Spell Ball Bonanza 2020 Information

Dear Friend of Literacy,

We invite you to join us on Tuesday evening, March 24th , 2020 at 6:00pm at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, located at 2423 West 26 th Street, for Joplin NALA Read’s 21st annual SpellBall Bonanza, formerly known as the All-Star Spell Ball.

The goal of this event is to promote literacy awareness and raise $8,000 to provide funding for the programs and services we offer to our students. As a not-for-profit, Joplin NALA Read serves more than 150 students per year. We do this on a pared- down budget of $65,000 which covers the Director’s salary, facility costs, books and materials. With no government support, we are depending on the proceeds from Spell Ball Bonanza to help fill the funding gap.

We do not charge for our services because we believe everyone has the right to literacy. Your participation is appreciated, and needed, so we can keep meeting the needs of adults in the four- state community.

There are a number of ways you can help out at Spell Ball Bonanza:

  1. Contribute items for a silent auction

  2. Enter a team consisting of three players for $150

  3. Be a Spell Ball Bonanza Inning Sponsor for $200

  4. Be a Spell Ball Bonanza Event Sponsor for $500

  5. Volunteer to help during Spell Ball Bonanza

  6. Come out to Spell Ball Bonanza and cheer on the teams!

Whatever you decide, we will be glad to accept your contribution and list you or your company in our program for the evening. We look forward to your joining us for 2020 Spell Ball Bonanza.

Grace Clouse,
Executive Director of Joplin NALA Read
