| There are many ways that you can volunteer with Joplin NALA Read. | ||

VOLUNTEER TUTOR Teach reading and writing to adults using special materials. Training is 12 hours. ESL TUTOR Teach English to people from other countries. OFFICE VOLUNTEER Help answer the telephone as needed, enter data on the computer and serve as a library assistant. TUTOR/STUDENT SUPPORT VOLUNTEER Help encourage the efforts of the tutors and students by telephone. VOLUNTEER SPEAKER Make presentations to community groups on behalf of Joplin NALA Read. RECRUITER Go into designated areas of the community to recruit students and tutors for the "Each One Teach One" program. |
FAMILY LITERACY VOLUNTEER Help with Family Literacy programs twice a month. PROMOTIONS VOLUNTEER Place promotional material (flyers, poster and bookmarks) at various locations throughout Joplin. COMMUNITY FAIR REPRESENTATIVE Set up information booths at conventions, conferences, community fairs and neighborhoods events. SPECIAL EVENTS VOLUNTEER Help plan and organize events to provide recognition for Joplin NALA Read. DONOR Make a tax deductible contribution to Joplin NALA Read's efforts.
